There have been a lot of questions and confusion on limit breaking, I myself did not understand it as well until people on the forums helped me. As people are still asking questions, I thought that I'd try to see if I could cover everything on the almighty, Limit Break. Limit Break is also abbreviated as LB

Tip to see next LB stats/skill
How to Limit Break:
Limit Break is not available to all Digimon, only to the strong ones. You can tell if a Digimon can LB by looking at the stats, and on the upper right hand corner next to "Level", you'll see a spot that says "Limit break". If "Limit Break" is dark yellow and unclickable, then that Digimon cannot Limit Break. If it says 0/4 or 0/5, then you're in luck! Limit break is when you take one max level Digimon and another Digimon of the exact same kind and fuse them together. For example, there are 2 Seraphimons, Seraphimon SP can Limit Break, Seraphimon King cannot. You cannot try to LB Seraphimon SP with Seraphimon King, they must be the exact same Digimon, not just the same name. Once the Digimon is max level you can tap on "Limit Break" and choose the same Digimon (of any level, does not have to be max, can be level 1) and you fuse them together. Once you do, your Digimon's max level increases by 5. So, if your Digimon's maxed level was at level 60 and then you used Limit Break, your Digimon's max level would be 65 instead of 60. The Digimon retains it's level, it would still be level 60. In order to LB, the Digimon must be max level, so now the Digimon must be level 65 before being able to LB again.
What's the point, why is it useful:
So the really cool thing about Limit Break is it increases your level. With more levels though, means more stats. Each level increases each Digimon's stats by 10. 5 levels per Limit Break = 50 stat points. 4 Limit Breaks per Digimon = 200 to each stat point. For example, let's say the Digimon is at level 60 and it's attack stat is 300 and it's defense is 400. If you were to use LB and then increase that Digimon's level to 65, it's attack would be at 350 and it's defense at 450 now. If you did LB all 4 times and maxed it's level, the level 80 Digimon would now have 500 attack and 600 defense. As you can see, Limit Break is very powerful.
Skill turns after Limit Break:
** Also check hidden Speed stat section below **
Digimons have their skills reduced by 1 either by the first or the second Limit Break. Skills may get reduced any level leading up the max level of any LB, ie. it could get reduced on the 1st new level gained, 2nd new level gained, so on and so on. The skills then get reduced 1 more time ten levels after the 1st turn reduction. If the 1st reduction was in the first LB, then the 2nd reduction will be in the third. If the 1st reduction was on the second, then the 2nd reduction will be on the fourth. So say your digimon's skill took 7 turns at maxed level. If you used limit break on it twice, and maxed it out, then your skill would take only 6. If you used limit break 2 more times, then the skill would take only 5 turns instead.
Leveling up to get ready to limit break
Digimon will have some exp already contributed towards the next level once it has LB. Each Digimon will have different amounts of exp already spilled over towards the next level, each Digimon is different dependent of their rarity or race or race. There is no way to increase the amount of exp spilled over, so trying to give a Digimon more exp than what is required to LB will not add the spillover exp.
Limit Break 5 times instead of 4, Limit Break Burst and the Burst Capacitor:
Some Digimon can have an extra Limit Break. This 5th Limit Break requires the usual duplicate Digimon but also something special, something called a Burst Capacitor. This is a capacitor that is only achievable during PvP event that debuted on 5/22/16. LBB isn't any different than any other LB other than having the addition of a capacitor. LBB increases each stat by 50, just like other LB and may also decrease the skill timer.
Digivolving a digimon that has used Limit Break
A Digimon, such as Nefertimon can limit break, but it's Digivolved form Ancientirismon can also limit break. Nothing special happens after Digiolving a Digimon that has undergone limit break, it will Digiolve as normal into a level 1 Digimon. If you take the time to limit break Nefertimon and then go and digivolve it at level 60(maxed limit break), it will just turn into an Ancientirismon, as if you Digivolved a normal level 40 Nefertimon. If you are planning to Digivolve a Digimon, do not limit break it, it will just be a huge waste of time, bits, and resources.
Hidden Speed Stat
There is a hidden stat for each Digimon called "Speed". The determining factor of when a skill will be reduced on it's 1st and 3rd LB(and 5th if applicable), or 2nd and 4th LB, is determined by this Speed stat. The Speed is different for each Digimon. This means that a skills reduction is NOT determined by the Digimon's rarity or each individual skill. This means that a certain skill may decrease it's timer on the 1st LB for one Digimon, but another Digimon with that same skill may decrease it's timer on the 2nd. The hidden Speed stat that is different for each Digimon determines at which LB the skill will be reduced
How to see if the next LB reduces skill time
For this to work you must have another copy of the Digimon and said Digimon must not be on a team. You can also do this trick without a Burst Capacitor to find out if you LBB if the Digimon will have it's skill reduced on the 5th LB.
