Yes I get his point. But my point is, that there are not that many people who can hit legend to begin with no matter what the winrates are. I think the both of you are severely overestimating the amount of players willing to spend the time and the money to get there. As this game imho is bleeding more top players than it is gaining, I don't think there is a real reason to worry.
And I don't know if you've played similar games like the ones I mentioned before, but F2P friendly looks a lot different. Just for PVP alone, which you need to play in order to get burst capacitors, you need crowns. You need space. The training zones cost money. And the DM eggs are just so ridiculously prized, that considering you need to pull a mon 6 times they are pretty much whale exclusive. And you get 20 digimoney a day. Maybe with all other stuff like pvp lists and the free spins let's say 50. That still means that from free digimoney alone you need to save up 40 days before you can think about hitting legend. That doesn't include refills for events. Yes you can play it as F2P but F2P friendly would be skmething different than hiding a LR behind a 2000 DM paywall (which is the minimum amount of money needed to get the crowns necessary to hit legend)
